About InsureClarity

Why We Built InsureClarity

Finally understand your insurance

It was New Year's 2025.

At the start of each year I love to reflect on the year that has passed and think about what I'd like to achieve in the year ahead. What is the best next version of myself? And how to work toward that.

Something that came to mind was that I really didn't understand my insurance very well. I was at best about a C student at my own insurance. And I decided that it was just too important a subject in my life, especially as I'm getting older, to be average. I felt like I needed to do better for my family.

I set out to "learn about insurance." After a few months of reading, watching videos, talking to my broker and others, I felt like I was studying for the test, but I just wasn't getting the answers. I didn't feel like I was getting any smarter when it came to our insurance portfolio. Let alone understanding our coverages better or feeling more prepared for conversations about claims.

And the more that I thought about it — the more I realized how little I actually understood about what I was paying for. A big storm would be headed our way and I would lay awake wondering, "What does my policy actually say about this?" When my broker asked what liability limits I wanted, I would ask them for a recommendation and figure… "that sounds like the right amount." But did I even understand what I was choosing?

And the more I dug in, the more questions I had — and the less I felt like I knew what to ask to get the answers.

And then I realized something wild: nobody in the entire transaction has the job of truly making sure you understand what you bought. Not your broker, not the carrier. The documents are written by lawyers for lawyers, and when something goes wrong, you're left to navigate the chaos alone.

I was curious about AI and felt this could be a really valuable way to use it. So I started programming the platform in about May…

By November I had gotten it to the point where it worked. And it was helping me. I worked on it more and by January 2026 it really worked well for me.

The very first thing InsureClarity showed me were issues I never would have found on my own — our home and umbrella policies weren't written to include our trusts and personal names properly, and our umbrella and auto policies didn't line up the way they should. I had no idea. I brought it to my broker and we got those corrected right away. Then I discovered that the health insurance I had personally was terrible — it had fixed reimbursement amounts for hospital visits. If something had happened to me, it could have been devastating financially. I never would have known that without uploading the policy and reading what InsureClarity surfaced.

I also used the Navigator to understand a speeding ticket — and learned I could ask the court about a mitigation program, which saved me $250. The platform even helped when a contractor's work caused damage to our home. Their insurer initially denied the claim, and the Navigator helped me understand our policy well enough to have a more informed conversation with their insurer. We ultimately recovered the full repair costs.

For the first time, I felt like I actually understood what I was paying for.

I figured if I'm a C student, there are probably a lot of other people who feel the same way.

Anyone who knows me knows that taking an idea and trying to build a business is my sport. I love it — I feel like I'm always training for it. I'm 59. I've built businesses my entire career. But InsureClarity is different — the impact that it's made on me and how it's helped me look out for my family, it's given me a mission. InsureClarity is something I believe can help millions of people finally feel like they understand their insurance.

InsureClarity is the bridge between the language your insurance company speaks and the language you speak. It translates confusing policies into plain language, surfaces areas worth discussing with your agent, and highlights details worth a closer look. Your direct personal identifiers are designed to be masked before the AI processes your documents — it focuses on the policy content, not your identity. And when questions come up, if you're wondering what your policy says about something… just ask your InsureClarity Navigator.

I built it to help me… and in the first year alone, the clarity I got from the platform helped my family save over $41,000 — from working with my broker to correct our Florida coverage, to recovering repair costs with the right information, to getting a denied MRI covered. I spotted areas worth reviewing and discussed them with my brokers, looked up what my policy said about storm damage before calling my agent, and had more informed conversations about liability limits at renewal. Now I want to help others. I truly believe there are millions of people just like me — which is why I'm offering annual access to InsureClarity.

Access is $37 per year. 37 is my lucky number, and I felt like it was a price most everyone can afford.

Insurance shouldn't be confusing.

The InsureClarity Promise

We translate — we don't sell

Our revenue comes from you ($37/year), not from carriers or data monetization. We succeed when you understand your insurance better, not when you buy more of it.

We strengthen your agent relationship

InsureClarity isn't a replacement for your broker — it's preparation for your next conversation with them. Better-informed consumers make every meeting more productive.

Your identity is designed to stay hidden from AI

Your direct personal identifiers are masked before the AI processes your documents. The system focuses on policy content, not your identity. Your data is never used to train AI models.

Built by someone who uses it every day

This isn't a product I built and handed off. I use InsureClarity for my own family's insurance. Every improvement I make, I make for myself too.
